full moon hangover. time to plant new seeds

Full Moon Hangover. Time to rip out the old and to plant new seeds. Yes, I do mean rip it out.  It feels that final to me.  The things that aren't working, that you don't need, the habits/patterns or addictions that you are SO done with... they gotta GO!  BUH-BYE! This is what I am feeling after the Full Moon on Monday.  In addition to being really tired on Tuesday. I had to take a whole day of downtime to realign and get back into my daily mode of operation.  But I don't want to fall back into it totally!!!  I shifted. I'm ready to rip out what's not working.  Yup.  That's me right now. I want to scream what I want on top of a HIGH mountain.  I want to do it dressed as a warrior goddess or like the Mother of Dragons.  Yes.  Like her.  On a mountain top with two huge dragons right beside me.  I am ready to step into what is coming & I claim it.  Anybody who wants to question or dismiss it--well, they will have me and my dragons to deal with. Want to join me in this vision? Why do I feel so strongly about this RIGHT now? Universal energies are totally aligning in ways that are supporting this energy of new truths and new loves right now.  There has been much build up to this- thousands of years, in fact.  I really feel that what we choose to step into, to pursue, to change, to nourish, to love, to grow, to build, to create...this time right here is the best time to go for it.  You can create it.  Believe it. This Leo Full Moon ( & Lunar Eclipse) and an upcoming Solar Eclipse at the New Moon.  It's being called, [...]

put your hands together and tell me what you are grateful for

I've been thinking about prayer a bunch lately.  Who does it?  Why?  How?  Should I be doing it?  Do I actually do it and not recognize it as such? Is it only for 'religious' people? Do you only pray to God with a capital "G"? What's the purpose? So many questions, right? I do know there are different types of prayer.  There's what I would call 'ritual' prayer.  Those memorized prayers that everyone does for a specific need or purpose.  There's the just-before-bed-on-your-knees prayer.  There's the blessing of the food before dinner prayer.  There are a litany of these everyday and special occasion prayers.  Mass, Hail Mary's, baptism, last rites, Passover, sacrament, etc. BUT the kinda prayer that I've been curious about is the one that comes from my inner essence (my inner drop) and is directed at--what??  Where is it going?  Why do it? It's the kinda prayer that solidifies and puts to order the challenges, wishes, needs, and requests that just kinda need a space to go. I'm hashing this out in my spirit right now.  Not because I'm fighting it, but because I want to discover more about it and how we frail little humans use it and need it. I'm coming across many podcasts, books, and speakers that weave their prayers into all they do and they speak about it so wonderfully. It really hits me when they share their prayers.  I feel the truth of it...of their belief and knowing of it to be powerful and necessary. I am in total L O V E with Anne Lamott.  Saint Anne, as I recently heard her called.  I know it is true.  Such wisdom and so witty with words.  Her book of the only 3 prayers you ever need: Help, Thanks, and Wow.  Says it all, [...]

into the wild

I am really feeling the pull of earth and animal energies this year.  I feel really safe, nurtured, and calm when I am just BEing in the forest or even on a walk.  I love to notice the changes in the trees, meadows, birds, and dirt are going through.  I immerse myself in their texture, smell, and especially this time of year-Winter, their starkness. I think this is due to the ever-shifting nature of our worldly world...we need a place to anchor to.  Being in Nature has always allowed me to go deeper into myself.  If you are feeling isolated or lost  with the current situation and the energy of too much worldliness...then retreat into nature and come out stronger for it. I have felt the companionship of a few particular animal energies this year so far.  Oddly, last year it was 'Donkey'.  I learned a bunch from these sturdy, helpful, and stubborn animals.  This year it is the wild and strong 'Wolf' energy.  The other is the beautiful and healing bird the 'Flicker'. Flickers are in the woodpecker family and are held sacred by many.  There feathers are used by healers.  I have a few.  I love them!  The quill part is orange and then I have some with the polka dots.  Totally cool.  I have incorporated them into healing tools.  A rattle and a feather smudge wand  used to break up stagnant energy and cleanse the energy field. Feathers have big medicine to offer. Ever since the December Moon Cycle I have been feeling Wolf energy.  And it has been showing up in my dreams and many other places. When I am curious about animal energies I encounter or feel, I go to Ted Andrews book called "Animal Speak- The Spiritual & Magical Powers of Creatures Great & [...]

what to do when nothing looks rosy

Have you been feeling it too? It’s like all the light has dimmed in my little world and it is making me cranky and feeling down. Argh! Is it because Mercury (and like a jillion other planets-read more about the astrology here) are in retrograde this month? Is it the extra anxiety around putting myself out there and desiring to go BIGGER? Is it the sudden death of a friend? Is it the extra sensitivity I’m feeling…seemingly around all the most vulnerable and delicate parts of myself? It is like I’m just tired of all the wanting and nothing coming in… (the little drop inside just asked me, “is this true?” I answer, “NO, just discouraged a bit.”) No, No and NO! It is not true. I don’t desire to continue to play small and not put myself out there. I know that all the internal questioning and integration of what’s going on both in the world and in me will help me grow stronger. (Retrogrades are a time to look internally and get insight.) How do I know this? Because, Dear One, I am an active participant in creating my luscious life. No matter how beat up, discouraged, cranky and disappointed I feel right now, I know that I have tools to help me learn from the challenges that are coming up. The jumble and chaos of life can try to throw you off your game. I say there is always a lesson from the chaos and when you don’t let it dismantle your strength, courage and spirit you can see clearly what is going on externally and not have it crush you. Your strong center and personal energy is your super power. When I feel like nothing is working, nothing is going my way, when I make a [...]

big dreams. big triggers.

(originally published for the February  2016  of  Sibyl Magazine) I’ve initiated some of the biggest things EVER for my life in 2015. As I write this on the cusp of the New Year I feel all the potential coming. I’ve taken some big steps & some grand leaps to begin to align my life with the greater vision I have for it. And you know what? It is scary. (It’s also secretly amazingly thrilling!) These leaps are triggering all the fear buttons I have—BIG time. But I also feel more potential, more power & more control than ever before. There are the money fears (HUGE), the “who-am-I to do this?” and the “you’ve-never-done-that-before.” And on & on. Worry. Fear. Doubt. Overwhelm. Lack of worthiness. Lack of resources. All of these creep in from time to time. The thing is…I really KNOW that the stuff I’m investing in, creating & pursuing are critical right now to my personal growth & the growth of my business. I KNOW that by challenging myself to create new programs I will serve my clients in deeper ways & with more lasting transformation than the ways I was serving them before. I KNOW that my trip to Egypt & its sacred sites in a couple of weeks will totally expand my spiritual & intuitive capacity. And be, in the truest sense of the word—AWESOME! I KNOW that the investments I’m making in my personal & spiritual education are some of the most important ones I can take. But OH BOY! They trigger every button I have. But even this is a gift, since I’m learning how to come back to my center, be present & TRUST. Before this year I would have never have even attempted the leaps I have. I’d have stopped myself by the [...]

a shout from the wind

Hello dear ones! On this blustery Samhain (pronounced sau-win) I thought I'd share a wee couple of poems I recently scribbled. ------------- a shout from the wind and all the leaves jump from the tree and run across the lawn to safe harbor at every nook they can put themselves. --------------- the trees celebrate the close of the season with a burst of confetti before retiring for the long winter's rest. -------------- Now I'm off to sit in the front of the fire & enjoy All Hallows' Eve.  Hope you do too!

Look what I dropped into

Drop In…Expand Out? What in the HEC does that mean? My original intent was to talk about this Tarot spread reading a group I am in did that really struck me deep- and now I know why-it talks about what I talk about all the time that Drop in…Expand out stuff. Whoa! Super cool, interesting coincidence (do you believe coincidences and synchronicities are teachers? I do) So dropping IN. What I mean when I say this is that you drop your awareness down into your belly and really truly feel (feel in your body and soul) how you feel about something. The truth of what is being presented whether it is an inner thing or something outside of you. Is it your intuition? Possibly. Is it your soul? Possibly. Is it your higher self? Possibly. Or all of the above? I don’t really care what you call it. I call it your inner drop. And I want you to connect to it, to live your life from this place in your being. Feel whole, integrated and on track because you know the truth of what is true for you. And you are strong and powerful in that truth. And it is yours and yours only, baby! Check in with it. Drop down inside. Feel. Listen. Ask a question out loud of it. Wait and feel the response- the answer- the feeling and the truth that comes.     And it will come.    It may take practice.    Keep practicing.    Develop ways to hear the answer. (Writing, meditation and oracles are great tools) Okay, so that’s the dropping in (in a nut shell). SO now…what is this expanding OUT stuff? The expanding out stuff IS… what are you going to do with the information that you got from your inner drop? What are you [...]

a dramatic way of seeing

Just up the road from my house is a shuttered stark barren house. No signs of the past, no hope of the future. Just there. A form without a purpose. Even the yard around it shows no signs of the people or life that happened there. There’s no lingering laughter of the 5th birthday party under the grand tree. The swing set has long been retired. The smells of roast chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy have long dissipated. But does this actually seeing was has come before have to influence the present. What if you saw the potential that is everywhere? What if, by opening up those shuttered windows and shining a new light on what is there you could jump into a new way of being? You’ve been bogged down and thinking it was another way instead of opening up and perceiving with new sight what could be. SEE what you hope for, what can be, what is available, what is there and always has been. It is not that things outside of change. It is what is inside of us and how we see it that changes. You know- you know…you do! Right now –that more is out there. You sense it. You feel it. Sometimes you feel it right down to your bones. You want to connect with that. Sometimes you get close. And right now you feel like it is time to break through and really see what it is that you want. You have this dream, this wish--to change, to be, to do, and to connect. I once felt like I was in that shuttered house. But--I saw it as a beautiful house. I felt like it was sturdy. I felt like it was solid. I didn’t realize the windows were shuttered. I wasn’t [...]

You want to be a Rock Star, right?

It seems like that it is everyone’s dream-being a Rock Star. But why? Why is this the dream job and lifestyle that people state as the best, the utmost, the peak of success? Why the job of Rock Star is so coveted: • Millions of adoring fans cheer you on every step of the way. • You live full out. (Your persona is YOU….and LOUD!) • You actively shout out what you are passionate about! • Fun and travel are a given. You dance and sing…for a living because you built your dream this way. • Your life and work is an expression of your creativity and passion. • You provide an exciting and lively way for people to connect with you and to have fun. • Your message about who you are is strong and clear. People ‘get’ you. • You are inspiring…and sexy. • You are always focused on your message. • You have a great band to support your message and you. • You let others do the tasks that aren’t your strongest points. Like setting up the equipment and attending to the details. You get the idea! YOU could be doing this in your business and life. Why not? Well, at least until you get thrown out of a few hotel rooms. :/ Look at the list again and see that a change in your attitude and how you strut your stuff can add an infusion of electricity that Rock Stars have. How can you bring a few of these ideas into practice? When customers (or people in relationship with you-even your relationship with yourself) begin to feel this passion, creativity and focus from you…they will be drawn to you. YOU will be their Rock Star! Or be your own Rock Star! For YOU! If I [...]

Gratitude

Accessing the Power of Gratitude The practice of gratitude as a tool for happiness has been in the mainstream for years. Long-term studies support gratitude’s effectiveness, suggesting that a positive, appreciative attitude contributes to greater success in work, greater health, peak performance in sports and business, a higher sense of well-being, and a faster rate of recovery from surgery. But while we may acknowledge gratitude’s many benefits, it still can be difficult to sustain. So many of us are trained to notice what is broken, undone or lacking in our lives. And for gratitude to meet its full healing potential in our lives, it needs to become more than just a Thanksgiving word. We have to learn a new way of looking at things, a new habit. And that can take some time. That’s why practicing gratitude makes so much sense. When we practice giving thanks for all we have, instead of complaining about what we lack, we give ourselves the chance to see all of life as an opportunity and a blessing. Remember that gratitude isn’t a blindly optimistic approach in which the bad things in life are whitewashed or ignored. It’s more a matter of where we put our focus and attention. Pain and injustice exist in this world, but when we focus on the gifts of life, we gain a feeling of well-being. Gratitude balances us and gives us hope. There are many things to be grateful for: colorful autumn leaves, legs that work, friends who listen and really hear, chocolate, fresh eggs, warm jackets, tomatoes, the ability to read, roses, our health, butterflies. What’s on your list? Some Ways to Practice Gratitude •     Keep a gratitude journal in which you list things for which you are thankful. You can make daily, weekly or monthly lists. Greater [...]
