holding up a mirror after 20 years…the power of friends

My old friend came to visit for a few days.  Wow!  You know how awesome that is?  We haven't even been in close touch over the last 20 years.  But when you're friends, you're friends, right?  Her husband thought she was crazy to even suggest coming to visit.  Very confusing to both of us, we thought nothing of it. Making close friends and keeping them is hard in our busy and often far apart lives.  I kinda forgot how awesome it was to have someone that just gets you, that you have a ton of shared memories with, that you have similar interests, values, and outlooks with.  Hard to do today, right? It was curious to see my 20-year younger self through the lens of seeing her again.  To remember things about myself and what I love and who I am and how much of that person is still there.  And then to reflect on that as I plan and create what's next for me is super empowering and strong. Remembering who you are assists you in rising to what's next for you. I loved hearing about how her life has unfolded and become blessed.  It renewed me and my endeavors. Looking back always has me feeling vulnerable.  Who you were. Your choices. Your mistakes. Your heartbreaks and old flames.  All of this is in your face with old friends, but you know what all those things are: lessons, joys, embarrassment, and beauty.  We all have them.  The good and the bad. This is the great thing about true friends who get you and love you no matter what crazy shiz you're up to. It's harder to find these close friends who you know this well as we get older.  I found this great article on 9 ways to catch [...]

5 simple yet powerful tools to invite lusciousness in your life

Is your life as luscious as you'd love it to be? By luscious, I mean juicy, rich, exciting, inspiring... the kind of life that feeds you on all levels of your being physical-mental-emotional-spiritual Right now you're probably experiencing some sort of over-drive in one of these areas. Possibly you are feeling overwhelmed and stressed by your work OR you can't stop worrying that hugely important business meeting that will provide your next step in growth OR you feel disconnected from the bigger picture of your life...you're lost in the everyday distractions and blah, blah, blah OR you are challenged by having less energy and drive in your body. Dear ones! Here's some techniques I have used in the past to ignite some momentum and get you out of THAT space that is sucking the sweet soul out of you and into a space that is LUSCIOUS! You probably won't want to try to do all of them at once...that would be too overwhelming.  Read through and pick one that excites you-one that you know you will do for 13 minutes every morning. 1.  Begin each morning by writing a list of 5-7 things, people, foods, flowers, pillows-whatever! that you are thankful for and appreciate in your world. "Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others." -Cicero This simple act will begin to shift your energy and the way you see things.  You'll begin to make dynamic choices that bring more juiciness in.  Powerful.  Easy.  Do it. 2.  You know that I L-O-V-E working with oracle decks and tarot cards.  Why?  Let me tell ya.  They instantly drop me in to what is going on inside.  This allows me to connect with that space inside of me and to see the bigger picture.  Then look [...]

Sit down and dream it out into the world

I am so eager to sit down with the ‘Handcraft Your Year’ 2015 workbook/planner. I was reviewing it, as I haven’t had the time with all the holiday bustle to have a spot of time to dedicate to it. Exciting. I love the project. It is like a craft day, a dream day…a creation day. Love it! I am going to turn on some inspiring and beautiful music, brew some tea and get cozy in front of the fire. Staring at the flames for inspiration and ideas. Dreaming and scheming my 2015 into being. It all has to start somewhere, right? I have last year’s workbook and was looking through it. I did pretty darn well with all the plans and designs for year. Yeah, me! Laying it all down at the beginning of the year is awesome. You have this road map for what it may look like. I take a gander at it at times during the year and see if I am still on track or if I need to adjust. Or sometimes the plan has taken a grand leap. It did last year…but it was still in the realm of my ultimate plan…I just pushed it a little closer (and bigger) into the real world. I love to use color pencils and doodle in mine.  I love to make a vision map (there is one included for you) and set my goals –yearly, daily and monthly. All this is sketched out and provided for you to play and plan with. In the workbook there are questions that are thought provoking and let you reflect on last year and then create and design and dream about the year ahead. It is super fun! There is a section for monthly goals, a color vision map suitable for display, [...]
