big dreams. big triggers.

(originally published for the February  2016  of  Sibyl Magazine) I’ve initiated some of the biggest things EVER for my life in 2015. As I write this on the cusp of the New Year I feel all the potential coming. I’ve taken some big steps & some grand leaps to begin to align my life with the greater vision I have for it. And you know what? It is scary. (It’s also secretly amazingly thrilling!) These leaps are triggering all the fear buttons I have—BIG time. But I also feel more potential, more power & more control than ever before. There are the money fears (HUGE), the “who-am-I to do this?” and the “you’ve-never-done-that-before.” And on & on. Worry. Fear. Doubt. Overwhelm. Lack of worthiness. Lack of resources. All of these creep in from time to time. The thing is…I really KNOW that the stuff I’m investing in, creating & pursuing are critical right now to my personal growth & the growth of my business. I KNOW that by challenging myself to create new programs I will serve my clients in deeper ways & with more lasting transformation than the ways I was serving them before. I KNOW that my trip to Egypt & its sacred sites in a couple of weeks will totally expand my spiritual & intuitive capacity. And be, in the truest sense of the word—AWESOME! I KNOW that the investments I’m making in my personal & spiritual education are some of the most important ones I can take. But OH BOY! They trigger every button I have. But even this is a gift, since I’m learning how to come back to my center, be present & TRUST. Before this year I would have never have even attempted the leaps I have. I’d have stopped myself by the [...]

Sacred sites. Sacred Work. Sacred Soul.

I'm writing this just a few days before I embark on what I believe will be the trip of lifetime. I'm going to visit the sacred sites of Egypt.  <gasp!> On a beautiful private boat drifting down the Nile with other like minded spiritual travelers.  The boat is gorgeous.  I already feel the magic and beauty of the trip. 2015 was a year I initiated many things in my life and my business.  Many of them HUGE!  Like this trip.  I have taken LEAPS that I would have previously talked myself out of.  I'd of let those awful little gremlins in my head take over.  I'd of let the worry, fear, overwhelm, lack of funds, lack of worth feelings make the choices for me.  NO more! I've dreams, desires & ways of being in the world that I'm willing to experience discomfort for in the process of making them happen. I want to be the kind of person that says, "Hell yes! I'm going on a luxurious trip to Egypt!" or "Yes, I want to invest in training or programs to help me better serve my clients and myself." or "Yes, I'll do my daily practices today because I know they will allow me to be the person I wish to be." These are parts of the new me...or the person I'm becoming.  What choices will I make to LEAP to the next part of my life?  What do I need to heal?  What do I need to toss? You know that saying "Feel the fear and do it anyway!"  I'm doing that. This what I help others to do.  This is what I do.  I reach.  I plan. I heal.  I want more. Blessings & light,  di P.S.  Drop me line to set up a time to chat about [...]

At the Gate of the Solstice

Nature is not caught up in all the hustle & bustle that happens at this time of the year...she has gone quiet, deep & restful.  The stark beauty of winter has Her stripped bare.  Her strength, beauty & wisdom is embraced in the arms of the earth where She's renewing, designing & gathering Herself for the anticipation of all the new that is coming. You too can take a moment at the Solstice to go deep & sit with your inner self in quiet wisdom of the stark winter.  It is the beginning of the new cycle.  It's where we begin to gather the energies for our next cycle.  In this quiet time we begin to birth it. I love to gather with close friends on the glittering evening of the Winter Solstice around the fire & light a candle as I reflect on the retreating year & all the potentials of the coming one.  Sometimes I write lists of what I want to release, renew & embrace on this night.  In a few weeks more I will start to make a more specific plans for the coming year. The 2015 Solstice is on Monday December 21 at 8:48pm (Pacific Daylight Time) or Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 04:49 UTC.  And for many of you reading this it may be the Summer Solstice if you are in the Southern Hemisphere.  But for me, here in the lush moist landscape of the Pacific Northwest it is definitely the Winter Solstice.  (I find it always interesting the yin & yang nature of our World.) At the about 1o minutes before & after the specific time, I intend to sit in reflection & offer to sync my own personal cycle with the inherent natural rhythms of our Mother Gaia.  I will ask that [...]

this boss lady made unwise choices

Cranky. Snappy. Mean. Depressed. Angry. Emotions I was choosing to let run the show. Did I have 'good' reasons for choosing these emotions? Possibly.  Did I feel I had choice back then?  Absolutely NOT! I was the boss lady of a busy restaurant.  With all the staff issues, long hours, long weeks, instant drama & over-indulgent habits & patterns that typically go hand in hand with this biz. I managed to pull out more appropriate emotions & behaviors most of the time.  I found the energy I needed from somewhere deep down to show up & get the job done.  But even that source began to get harder & harder to tap.  It was running dry from the constant use & no replenishment.  So the 'bad' stuff crept up more often...and  I used more excuses & indulgences to cope with it. Sounds a bit manic, doesn't it? Looking back it was.  I was. BUT I've so much compassion & love for that person.  She did her best at the time, she taught me a ton & she was 'good' at the job. But as you can see...I didn't FEEL good.  I was tired, stressed, achy beyond my years, no energy & no way to refill my well- to dig out- to get back on top of it.  To be me. One of my big A-Ha's around this issue of choosing to act on emotions like this is that I began to hear myself tell myself excuses for the bad behavior towards others or myself.  For example, if I was cranky with someone I would hear myself say, 'You did that because you're not feeling well.'  Or 'I haven't eaten yet, so I have a right to act like that."  Or 'I haven't had a day off in 10 days, so [...]

a shout from the wind

Hello dear ones! On this blustery Samhain (pronounced sau-win) I thought I'd share a wee couple of poems I recently scribbled. ------------- a shout from the wind and all the leaves jump from the tree and run across the lawn to safe harbor at every nook they can put themselves. --------------- the trees celebrate the close of the season with a burst of confetti before retiring for the long winter's rest. -------------- Now I'm off to sit in the front of the fire & enjoy All Hallows' Eve.  Hope you do too!

5 simple yet powerful tools to invite lusciousness in your life

Is your life as luscious as you'd love it to be? By luscious, I mean juicy, rich, exciting, inspiring... the kind of life that feeds you on all levels of your being physical-mental-emotional-spiritual Right now you're probably experiencing some sort of over-drive in one of these areas. Possibly you are feeling overwhelmed and stressed by your work OR you can't stop worrying that hugely important business meeting that will provide your next step in growth OR you feel disconnected from the bigger picture of your life...you're lost in the everyday distractions and blah, blah, blah OR you are challenged by having less energy and drive in your body. Dear ones! Here's some techniques I have used in the past to ignite some momentum and get you out of THAT space that is sucking the sweet soul out of you and into a space that is LUSCIOUS! You probably won't want to try to do all of them at once...that would be too overwhelming.  Read through and pick one that excites you-one that you know you will do for 13 minutes every morning. 1.  Begin each morning by writing a list of 5-7 things, people, foods, flowers, pillows-whatever! that you are thankful for and appreciate in your world. "Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others." -Cicero This simple act will begin to shift your energy and the way you see things.  You'll begin to make dynamic choices that bring more juiciness in.  Powerful.  Easy.  Do it. 2.  You know that I L-O-V-E working with oracle decks and tarot cards.  Why?  Let me tell ya.  They instantly drop me in to what is going on inside.  This allows me to connect with that space inside of me and to see the bigger picture.  Then look [...]

stop. heal. be luscious!

We all have those little gremlins lurking in our heads, telling us all that we didn't do or that we screwed up or that we left that out or we just generally suck. What can we do to stop that gremlin?! What can we do to change the wiring in our heads that leads to that tape of negative self-talk playing over and over and over? It is a hard thing to change, especially if it is a regular way of thinking for you.  I fell into it in certain situations and places--UNTIL I decided that I was going to CHANGE! I decided I didn't always want be judging, complaining and whining in my head.  I wanted to have better thoughts. I wanted to have joy in my life.  I wanted to feel as much as joy as I could. So I practiced.  At first it was really hard and I sucked at it.  The gremlins still got me.  Ran me through the ringer.  I kept on that treadmill---playing that same old tape about how bad this is, how that guy is so lazy, how she doesn't do what she is supposed to do, how they keep showing up with the same questions and on and on.  I was complaining about everyone and then about myself.  UGH! Painful.  All of this in my head.  Hurting me. I kept trying, kept practicing and I wrangled up some new ways to trap those gremlins and send them off to Pluto. I changed the tape through silly games.  Guess what?  Silly games, work.  You might laugh.  I might seem shallow.  I might seem focused on the petty, but you know what my games keep me positive and have trained me out of the negative self-talk and complaining habit. So my games, if that [...]

Because of this their direction and the next step is not as clear as it could be. #3: Get support. Very few people (if any) achieve anything great alone. Sports stars have teammates and coaches. Solstice energy –how to harness it

Solstice is almost here -the mid-point of the year- How are you doing on the goals, plans & dreams you made at the start of 2015? Not only is this an awesome time to celebrate the Sun and the Earth and YOU- but it is a great time to inject all your dreams with NEW vitality and energy to fuel your dreams through the remainder of the year. It is a powerful way to use all the natural energy of the Earth (which is super duper high right now) to reinvigorate, renew and refocus all of your plans, intentions, goals and dreams. I suggest that over the next few days you reflect on all the things you are wanting to bring into your life. Consider all areas.  Use my Free Workbook to go over what you want to toss and what you want to tend.  What you want to grow and what needs be composted.  Possibly you did some of this at the start of the year. Possibly things have changed in your life. Maybe you have bigger dreams than you did at the start of the year, maybe you have gotten off track and need to jump back on. Read through what you wrote, add things, check off things that are accomplished, put checks by items that are in progress, and see and feel how you can invigorate the things that are not yet here. Reflect (#1 way to see where you are) Use the workbook. Take a look at what is going on this year for you--it may have took a turn that you didn't expect. How does that effect the plans you had? Read through the workbook. See if the goals you had then line up with the ones you have now. Just reflect for now. You [...]

It all happened in one day. It took a tiny drop every day to make it ripple.

I love those days. Have you ever had a day where you did so many things that are at the top of your fave list that you kinda feel a bit surreal--- like floating on a fluffy cloud where tiny little snacks and tasty beverages were served? Well, I wasn't on that cloud, but if that had happened it wouldn't have surprised me in the least. I recently had a day like that. A day filled with all the new things that I dream of having more of in my life.  A day that soon I hope will be just another normal ol' day for me.  A day that I am starting to create one drop at a time. This is one thing I am realizing (before I get to my frickin' awesome day) that IT (whatever your or my 'IT' might be) doesn't happen over night or even next week most of the time.  It takes time and consistent effort every little day...to get that BIG day or that shift to happen. That is why I am always saying one drop at a time. If every day I am putting some effort in action or thought towards what I want in my life it makes a drop. Sometimes a tiny drop. Sometimes a bigger drop.  BUT a drop. And drops start little ripples that spread out and initiate other things, other drops and other ripples.  They grow and grow and pretty soon you have little waves of change and growth. So my awesome day didn't just happen.  I made it happen.  Some of it took years of study and work. Some of it was able to happen through people, connections and community. Some of it happened because I said, "YES." (actually all of it) Interesting how not saying this [...]
